Grandma had this saying; "Two heads are better than one, even if one of those heads belongs to a pig."
When I was very young, in the neighborhood of 7 or there about, I would go to my grandmother for advice. Grandma had a coloring book and some crayons that I had used on my last visit, but I had heard that Grandma also had watercolors. I did not want to make a pest of myself, but I was curious about watercolors and wondered how they worked so I went to Grandma with my problem.
"Grandma I want to draw" but I don't know which is better crayons or water colors"
"Oh this is a very serious problem little Johnny. Let us put our heads together and see if we can't figure it out."
"Tell grandma what you like about crayons."
This question I had me baffled and it took me awhile to answer. Grandma was patient, but she gave no hints.
"Surely" she said "There must be something you like about crayons.
I told her that I liked the colors, but it was hard to keep the colors between the lines.
"Well" said Grandma, "How would you like to draw on paper that has no lines with a paintbrush."
"What a pant-brush?" I asked.
When I asked this question Grandma knew I had made a decision with her help so for the next few hours Grandma and I had fun with water colors on the old card table. She told me to be careful not to get paint on the carpet or Grandpa would be angry. I never saw Grandpa get angry before and I did not want to find out what that meant so I was very careful. At that time I realy did not fully understand what Grandma was saying about two heads, but many years later while I was studying the concept of group dynamics I realized that the decisions made by a group were onften better than ones that individuals could make. I understood that Grandma did not have a pigs head, but I also understood what she meant. So if you're having a problem deciding what to do there is nothing wrong with asking for help. We don't all have grandmothers to help us through a difficult situation, but we can usually find someone to help. Just remember two heads are better than one even if one is a pig's head.
Low cost solar heating is a cost effective alternative to oil heating. Grandma would say our survival depends on it and as you know grandmas are experts in the field of group dynamics. So if there is a problem that you can't solve on your own ask grandma and she will help you.
